ABOUT NCEFE
Sheffield Hallam University's National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering (NCEFE) is a component of the University's Industry and Innovation Research Institute, situated adjacent to the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park in the Attercliffe district of Sheffield.
The NCEFE describes itself as a "catalyst for innovation, forward thinking and problem solving" in the food and drink industry.
The facilities and expertise within the centre focus on tackling food industry challenges such as productivity, health, minimising waste and reducing energy use.
The centre also supports the food industry by developing new and enhanced production facilities, processes and equipment, and creating a skilled, knowledgeable workforce through their specialist training expertise.
NCEFE includes pilot-scale production facilities, laboratories, workshops and teaching spaces.
